Registration and information

The Law Students for Economic Justice and the National Lawyers Guild New York City Chapter Labor and Employment Committee invite you to attend a day-long symposium on The Corporate University. Registration will open at 12:00pm (see schedule below).

The event will feature three panels with organizers, lawyers, and academics examining how institutions in higher education have transformed over the last twenty years. The panels will discuss the explosion of student debt, contingent labor, organizing campus workers (including graduates students' recent victory at NYU and adjuncts), interns, gentrification and expansion, international human rights issues on international campuses, and other related issues. 

The event is free and open to the public. The last panel of the day, “Schooling the University: Winning Workplace Justice for Workers” will be offered as a CLE. Advance registration is required for CLE credit.

CLE Credit
Schooling the University offers attorneys 2.0 Professional Practice CLE Credits for a suggested donation of:


$5 for students, legal workers, and organizers
$20 for NLG-NYC members in good standing; or
$40 for non-NLG-NYC members. Please note that the CLE is appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys.


Financial Scholarships & Fee Waivers
We are committed to making this panel available and affordable. As such, low-income and public interest attorneys are strongly encouraged to apply for financial assistance to defer the suggested donation.
